1. Established in 1804 and have been supplying products to government since 1870s.
2. Created most innovative products of its time.
3. Created one of the most popular computers in 1950s
4.  Went through various mergers and now a part of the huge MNC in aerospace and defense industry.


1. Because of rapid changes in the technology it was not able to keep up with new and better versions of what it was selling.
2. The company was largely run by a few powerful visionaries, and incase of demise/retirement of such personalities, the company struggled to follow the vision and stay profitable.
3. Difficulty in staying profitable.


1.It was one of the first movers in the product category it entered, it has better opportunities expanding the existing categories.
2. Could easily take support from government agencies to fund its research and stay afloat.


1.The dynamic environment was a big threat.
2. It didn’t have a stable source of funding.
3. Lack of visionary leaders during various intervals in the company’s life.
