Strengths

1. EID Parry is the largest sugar producer in south India and the fifth largest in the country.
2. It has been in operation for over 225 years and hence is well established and experienced.

3. It sees farmers not as suppliers of raw material but as customers.The company guides farmers from the moment they plant the cane and register with the company's cane management system. 
4. It’s also present in bio-pesticides and nutraceuticals. The company also has a significant presence in the farm inputs business through its Coromandel International Ltd subsidiary.
5. It has one of India’s best managed boards.

Weaknesses

1. Volatility in sugarcane prices is a concern
2.Sugar industry is obliged to supply 10% of its production at substantial concessional price, much below the cost of production, to the Government for supply to the Public Distribution System (PDS)

1.Cheap sugar imports are harming the existing sugar mills in India
