Definition: Canadian Capital Markets Association - CCMA

CCMA is a non for profit organization which was created for analysing issues arising in the capital markets of Canada and other major countries. The organization focusses on being an active participant for development and implementation of government legislation and regulatory policies relating to industry practices in the capital markets.

The CCMA was established in the year 2000. The association primarily comprises of the experts from the industry, who work for many large capital market institutions in and around Canada. The association comprises of 6 committees which focuses on a specific areas of the capital markets.


These committees consist of the Board of Directors and Buy-Side Subcommittee, Custodian/Broker Subcommittee, Legal/Regulatory Working Group, Observers, Trade Tracking Analysis Subcommittee and the Communications and Education Working Group.
