Job code is an alphanumeric representation that can be used to classify different job positions in a database.

It makes it easy for the for the organization or employment agency to segregate the data collected on the basis of the job positions and even makes it easier for applicants to apply using the appropriate codes rather than using the whole job title.

The job codes make the human resource database more compatible with the data variables and can be used efficiently to manage the recruitment and performance management systems.
