Definition: Brand Leader

Brand leader is the product or sometimes the company that has highest sales (or brand recall value) in a particular market category. Due to its dominant position in the market, a brand leader usually also commands the largest margins.

When a company or its product achieves brand leader status, it often commands its profits through aggressive pricing strategies.



Samsung being as a brand leader in the Indian market often alter its price (usually lowers it) to remove competition from domestic companies producing Phones at low costs.


Premium watch brand Rado is a brand leader in the niche premium watch category
