Definition: Age-Grade Distribution
Age grade distribution is a type of classification generally used in sociology and anthropology to refer a group of people belonging to a particular society or culture based on certain age group and class. Age grade distribution is widely used by marketing companies in determining the demographics for distribution and advertising of a company’s product.
An advertising company for jewelry or apparels would examine the age grade distribution of certain demographic to best determine the exact time slot for a particular program to be aired on television, radio or on social media which is particularly designed for women in the age group 30 – 45 years so that it gets the maximum attention from its targeted audience.
