Definition: Afternoon Drive

Morning and afternoon drives are primetime slots for radio broadcasting. The afternoon drive occurs on weekdays (Monday to Friday) from 3pm to 7pm.

The other drive (morning drive) occurs from 6am to 10am.These slots are characterised by high listenership an hence advertising slots at these times will be charged the highest.

The morning and afternoon drives are called so because it is assume that listeners will be commuting at these times, hence propensity of listening to the radio will be higher as compared to other slots. Hence commercial radio can charge higher for advertisements placed during these times.
