Definition: Transit Advertising

Transit advertising is a form of advertising which is done on public transport vehicles, waiting areas of the railway station, bus stop, parking area etc.

There are three major types of transit advertising:

a) Posters inside the transport vehicle

b) Posters outside the transport vehicle

c) Posters located at bus and train station

Advantages of transit advertising:

• It is offered at relatively low cost. Inside vehicles promotion is even cheaper than outside vehicle promotion.

• Transit advertising reaches a mass audience and acquaint them with the advertised brand

• Improves visibility for the product on a daily basis.

• It also guarantees a varied audience by age and income.

For example: A bus with a brands poster, casually driven around a city.
