Definition: Technical Representative
A technical representative is a specialised case of a sales representative. He is a technically qualified and specially trained representative of the company or manufacturer who clearly explains the product details to the client and helps in the installation, repair and maintenance of the product or equipment.
Also called technical support or field support, these people are familiar with the in and out if the devices. They also ask in depth questions to customers to identify the root cause of the problem (especially in repair and maintenance) and drill down to specifics. In addition, they are also part of the firm’s customer service team and act as a communication channel between the firm and its customers.
