Definition: Shoulder Period

Shoulder period or shoulder season is the time between a high and low cycle in the seasonal sales of a firm or industry.

 

For example, in the case of hill resorts, the shoulder period would be the time in between the peak and off-peak seasons. Prices will tend to be relatively low.
