Definition: Vertical Publication

It is a type of publication where the contents are focused on a certain business or industry. E.g. Magazine like Autocar India focus on the automobile industry and is followed by car and bike enthusiasts well as the automobile OEMs.


Vertical publications are useful for marketers targeting users of a particular industry i.e. in the example above, car navigation systems or car music system manufacturers can publish advertisements in car magazines.

 

They help companies advertise in specific channels where they have a focused customer audience which leads to better conversions after viewing the ads for a particular product or service focused towards that industry.


They are also known as trade publications. The content is strongly focused on one type of industry or business.
