Definition: Follow Up
The act of making contact post the initial contact in order to ensure that a transaction initially discussed goes through the desired process and meets a positive desired end. As the term clearly suggests following up which is possible only after making first contact and then building on the discussions made in the first meeting.
For Example: Any pitching for a product or sponsorship requires meeting the corporate or the designated individuals. In the first meeting a person makes a proposal and introduces the product and its benefits, wherein despite interest the corporate or the consumer delays the decision to think about it or to discuss with his other decision partners (wife, children or stakeholders).
The person in this case needs to follow-up on the first meeting in order to know the status as well as supply information he might have missed out on in the first meeting
