Definition: Dealer Tie-In

Dealer tie-in is when intermediaries like retailers are a part of marketing activities of manufacturers marketing campaigns and manufacturer uses this campaign for further advertising the product. Thus when manufacturer mentions dealer as a part of marketing campaign in advertisement of product it is termed as dealer tie in.


Trade sales promotion is when manufacturer directs its marketing activities on his intermediaries and encourages them to increase their support and enthusiasm for sales of a particular product.


Marketing campaign is generally carried on by manufacturer by providing display materials, organising local competitions among dealers, incentivising the dealer by giving him free tickets to concert or travel ticket. These campaigns lead to active participation among intermediaries and helps in trade sales promotion.
