Promotion is the business of communicating with customers. It provides them with the information which will help them in their purchase decision. In this you advertise your product to increase your sales.

Promotion is of the 4Ps of the marketing.

There are 5 types of promotions: -

  • Personal selling
  • Advertising
  • Sales promotion
  • Publicity
  • Direct marketing

Advantages of product promotion: -

  • Increase in sales
  • Helps to spread the cost over a large output
  • Increase demand
  • Make consumers aware about the product
  • Increasing the brand value

Example:- The free products which we get when we but any item or the free samples which the companies provide are examples of product promotion.
