Definition: Summarize and Direct Close

Closing refers to the process of making a sale. Direct Close is the most straight forward method of selling in which the salesman directly asks the buyer for an order. Summarize and direct close is a method of closing in which the salesperson summarizes the key benefits of the product/service before asking for the order. It is a method in which the salespeople evaluate a customer and try to arouse their interest in a particular product.


For example, while selling a laptop if the salesman goes on to explain the specifications and functionalities of the laptop before asking for an order, the method adopted by him is referred to as Summarize and Direct Close.
