Definition: Weekly Log

A weekly log is a record of all the sales carried out in a particular week. It includes the following details: customer name, quantity purchased, date of purchase, sales dollar value etc.


A weekly log is maintained by every sales representative which is then aggregated at different levels: area wise, or regional level to obtain appropriate data. The sales data obtained from the weekly log can be used to measure the performance of the sales representative.


It can also help identify important accounts, products which are performing better. The data can be analyzed to devise marketing and promotion plans to increase sales performance in the subsequent periods.
