Definition: Integrated Carrier

Integrated carrier is a cargo transported who has its own equipments. It does not depend on scheduled airlines, shipping companies or local level transporters for services. It has its own Aircrafts, Ships, Trucks and other delivery vehicles depending upon scale of operations.


Example- FedEX, It is an American global courier delivery service company. It has various stores all over the world where customers can go and handle what they want to deliver. FedEX then uses its vast network of cars, trucks, vans, planes, ships maximum of which it owns to deliver the product on given address. Customer can anytime track location of its order by a 30 character long code.

In terms of telecommunication network it can mean a service provider which has infrastructure for both mobile and fixed line services. Its services and customers are present in both domains.
