The Package delivery service was exclusively allowed to the Indian Postal services in India but the government later opened doors for private players as well after which a large no. of companies in the package delivery segment have started to operate like DHL, Blue dart, DTDC etc. these companies are competing neck to neck with the Indian Postal services in the Urban areas as they provide better services like home pick up and Tracking services i.e. a customer can track at what point is the courier on its path to delivery. But looking at the rural areas Indian postal Services is the largest in the country covering the maximum no. of pin codes throughout all of the country.
