LASH (Lighter aboardShip) is a system of carrying cargo with LIGHTERS on the ship. The lighters facilitate easy arrangement, loading and unloading of the cargo.

This technique was devised to carry large volumes in an efficient manner on a ship.

Usually a LASH carries about 5 times more than a normal ship.
