Reneging means to avoid completing the task even though one had agreed to finish it. In simple terms it is about going back on your promise, undertaking or contract.
Reneging can also be explained in context with queues. One waiting in queue finds it too long or thinks he can get a quicker service by another way with shorter queue.
Eg: When you promise to take your son to theme park and then you change your mind due to long waiting time and cancel the visit or re-plan to some other venue, this is an example of a situation where you renege on a promise.
