Definition: Kaizen Board
Kaizen from Japanese, refers to “continuous improvement”. It refers to the practice or the philosophy of improvement in different processes such as manufacturing, engineering and business management as a way of life for every member of the organization.
The key focus is on improving the standardized operations in any process to eliminate waste and increase productivity by applying the scientific method.
The first implementation of Kaizen was done in the Toyota Production System, when any problems during the production and in the production line, requires everyone to stop the production process and participate in suggesting an improvement to resolve the problem. Thus, it provides for a structured manner of improvement of the different processes.
