MarkMantra is the marketing magazine brought out by the students of IIFT, encompassing various dimensions of marketing and exploring horizons of this integral business function. Bringing out the best in the marketing domain from the trivial to the bizarre things that really matter which is aimed at enlightening the marketers is the onus of this team. We have a legacy of producing one of the best marketing magazines across all B-Schools. Spotting the trends and innovation are two prime focus areas of the magazine. These, we think, will make one ponder upon how a company markets its offerings. Customer value is of paramount importance to every marketer and we as IIFTians strive to provide maximum value proposition to our customers, that is, you.

MarkMantra hereby invites articles for its August issue.

You can send in your thoughts on either of the topics mentioned below:

1. At your Service!!
Service sector accounts for a big contribution in Indian economy not just in terms of GDP but also the amount of employment it provides. The service industry ranges from the sophisticated Information technology, aviation, banking, hospitality & tourism to as simple as domestic helps, plumbing etc. This article calls for some insight into the marketing of such a huge sector where just 4Ps are not enough.

2. Has it gone too common??
Too much of anything is bad but does this also apply to the brands which have gone too generic? Google, Xerox, FedEx, band-aids have enjoyed their share of top of mind recall by the consumers but is there a line after which they have or will have to face a set down. Is it possible that consumers will only remember them as verbs/nouns and not as the companies/products?

3. Brand Workouts
Marketing community has found a new lingo in the form of "Brand Activation" and many companies have engaged consumers on emotional level to bring the spirit of brands to life. Calling for your thoughts on this new trend by the companies and how far have they been successful in it.

The guidelines are as follows:
1. Maximum of two authors per article.
2. Both the students should be from the same institute, inter-batch teams are permitted.
3. Articles shouldn't exceed 1500 words and should be typed in: Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12 and line spacing: 1.15
4. Last date for submitting the articles is July 31st, 23:59:59

6. Naming convention is: MM_Article Name_Author Name
