We need to lay emphasis on the human resource department. They need to be considered strategic department rather than mere supporting function. If we have healthy human resource, then it will be easy to retain employees..

Many times it is seen that lateral employees are paid better than long serving employees. This creates rift between the long serving employees and lateral employee which not good for organization's health. Company's should ensure that there is not much difference between the new and old employees.

in order to attract talent from outside lateral employees need to be paid higher...it is business sense..

yes its a business sense to pay lateral more but then over a period of time, correction needs to be made such that all the employees are at par depending on their grades

culture of the company also plays a big part in retaining the employees. How is culture in the company defined? It is based on the company's policies. More the employee friendly policies, better is the chance of the employee sticking to the company

Work should never become monotonous and must offer a new learning each day. An employee should be upgrade his skills with the help of challenging assignments or by means of trainings. The employee will leave the organization the day he sees there is no chance of further growth

it is not necessarily the case with all the employees. This is a case with ambitious people. Every individual is different and there are different ways to handle everyone. A leader should be adept to recognize these

It has become really difficult to retain employees these days. In addition to traditional perks and benefits like bonuses and financial incentives, they want to offer compelling employee value proposition. Companies are offering attractive perks like holiday travels, and even sabbaticals and higher studies subsidy more widely.
