Nissan Motor Corporation (NMC) USA is a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Company Ltd. which is headquartered at Yokohama, Japan.
The parent company was founded in the year 1933. NMC initially started with making and importing Datsun vehicles in USA from the year 1958. Further in 1990, Nissan North America was formed which was engaged in design, development, manufacturing and marketing of Nissan vehicles. It is headquartered at Franklin, Tennessee and manages all operations for USA, Canada and Mexico. Nissan has three manufacturing plants in USA which are at Smyrna (production capacity = 550,000 p.a.), Tennessee and Canton (production capacity = 450,000 p.a.). The various brands under it are Nissan, Infiniti, Datsun, and NISMO. It offers coupes, sedans, sports cars, electric cars, minivans, SUVs, crossovers etc. Some models which it manufactures are Nissan Altima, Nissan Maxima, Nissan Frontier, Nissan Pathfinder, Infiniti JX, Nissan Titan, Nissan Armada etc. Nissan has approximately 147,939 employees across the globe. It is ranked at #75 in world's most valuable brands, #96 in global 2000 list and at # 42 in America's best employers (these rankings are given by Forbes). In April 2015, Nissan USA has sold 109,848 units in USA which is 5.69% more as compared to units sold in April 2014. As of May 2015, its market capitalization is $45.9 Billion.
