Founded in 1979 by Jack Walker as Jersey European Airways later changed to FLyBe.

Its headquarters are located at Exeter International Airport, Devon, England. It is one of the other UK’s low cost regional airline apart from Jet2.Airlines provide a scheduled network of services across UK and Europe with more than 180 routes and 65 European airports. It is marked by carrying more than seven million passengers in 2013. Its major destinations are Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Norway, Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Finland etc.

Airlines has adopted 5C model to face the challenges faced by the business. These 5Cs are Cost base, Cash for creating maximum financial headroom, Configuration – right network and right aircraft for right destination, Commercialisation- strengthening customer base and  confidence for active engagement. Flybe is Europe’s best local airline. This value is delivered through the Excellency in its operations and ensuring that they are safe, regionally leading market and disciplined management process. There are around 98 aircraft under management. According to the chairman’s statement as in Annual report: group division of Flybe has been removed and three business segments are clubbed under one division called – One Flybe. One Flybe consists of Flybe UK, MRO and Finland. Third party services are provided through Flybe MRO segment.

Flybe’s major operating bases include Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Bournemouth, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, Southampton and London Southend. Airline’s Fleet size is around 67 and include ATR 72-600, Bombardier Dash 8 Q400, Embraer E- 175, and Embraer E-195.

Airline has also shown great inclination towards innovation since 2005. Some of its innovations are airline failure Insurance, Launched World’s first Eco- Labelling scheme, rewards4all as its FFP, Flight online functionality etc. 85 routes are covered by the code share agreement between Flybe and Air France. Schemes covered under its sustainability programme are: green fleet, Eco labelling scheme, carbon offset scheme and emission trading scheme.
