Though Yamaha made its entry into the Indian market in the year 1985, only in August 2001 Yamaha Motor India became a hundred percent subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd, Japan.
In the year 2008 after the JV became successful between Mitsui & Co Ltd and Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd the company “India Yamaha Motor Private Ltd” came into picture. It has got two manufacturing plants at Surajpur and Faridabad which are in UP and Haryana states respectively. They are well spread across the nations with more than 400 dealers. YZFR15 v2.0 is the most stylish bike of the company. The company has different groups for taking care of business, sales and R & D part of the company under the name of Yamaha Motor India Private Ltd, Yamaha Motor India sales private Ltd, Yamaha Motor Research & Development India Private Ltd respectively. Under corporate social responsible policy they are mainly into education sector and promotion of gender equality. Recently they have launched a new scooter named “Fascino”. The company also offers free test ride to customers though it is only valid in some selected vendors. Currently its product portfolio includes YZF-R15 V2.0, FAZER V2.0, FAZER, FZ-S V2.0, FZ-S, FZ V2.0, FZ, SZ-RR V2.0, SZ-RR, SZ-S, SALUTO, SS-125YBR125, YBR110, CRUX under the Motorcycle segment and under the scooters category it has FASCION, ALPHA, RAY-Z, RAY.
