Textron Inc. is headquartered in Providence, Rhode Island and is an American conglomerate which was founded by Royal Little in 1923 as a special yarns company.

Greenlee Textron is majorly an industrial tool company which is currently headquartered in Rockford, Illinois, USA. Greenlee was initially founded way back in 1862 by the two brothers named Robert and Ralph to make their invention which was a drill bounded by 4 chisel edges, usually functional in building pockets for a regular mortise and tenon joint for the furnishings industry. The brothers after some years diversified into a range of hand gear plus equipment which was used for building barrels out of wood. The acquisition by Textron took place in 1986. Greenlee Textron in today’s date produces a variety of installation apparatus to facilitate a range of fields. Another important business unit of the Textron group is the Textron System, which is an aerospace expansion and development company that is headquartered in Providence. The corporation is the principal business unit of Textron Inc., which has shown 1.7 Billion dollar yearly revenue in 2012 in the Textron Systems segment. Its operating units are Support Solutions, electronic solutions, Unmanned Systems, Advanced Information Solutions based in Austin, Texas, Geospatial Solutions based in Sterling, Virginia, Lycoming Engines, Marine & Land Systems, TRU Simulation-and-exercise and Weapon-and-Sensor Systems. In December 2013, an agreement was made by Textron to buy Beech craft and the contract was evaluated at $1.4 Billion.
