The Weir Group (Weir) is the UK based group, engaged in designing, manufacturing, and supplying equipment and engineering solutions to minerals, oil and gas, and power and industrial markets.
Weir offers a range of products to various industries including water and wastewater, chemicals and fertilizers, agriculture, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, pulp and paper, and steel and marine engineering. The group operates in the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Africa. It is headquartered in Glasgow, the UK and employs around 15,000 people. The group operates its business through three divisions including Weir Minerals, Weir Oil and Gas, and Weir Power and Industrial. In May 2014, Weir Oil & Gas, a division of the group, and the Rolls-Royce Power Systems company signed an agreement to develop power systems engineered for hydraulic fracturing. Weir entered into an agreement to acquire Trio Engineered Products1, a Chinese-American manufacturer of crushing and separation equipment for the mining and aggregates markets, in October 2014. It makes several products such as: Pumps, Hydro cyclones, Turbines, Valves, De-watering equipment, Wear resistant linings, Rubber products, screening machines, Pressure pumping equipment, Pressure control products and Slurry handling equipment. It also provides services such as: Aftermarket services, Engineered mechanical and rotating equipment repairs, Oilfield and drilling equipment repair, Certification and asset management and Field services.
