TWC is among the most prominent providers of video, voice and high-speed data services in the US catering to about 15 million customers in 29 states.

It employs about 50000 people across the country. Its Business Class division offers similar services to businesses and other services like cell tower backhaul services, cloud-enabled hosting, managed applications and services.
Recently, in 2014, there was news of a proposed buyout of the company by Comcast Corporation at about $45 billion. However, the deal couldn’t see the light of the day due to opposition by various groups including attempts by the US government to block the merger. Thereafter, the deal was called off in April 2015. Charter Communications announced in May 2015 about its plans to acquire Time Warner Cable for about $78.7 billion along with another firm Bright House Networks in a separate deal worth $10 billion. The deal is waiting for regulatory approval.
