Comcast is a renowned media and technology company.


It has two primary businesses: Comcast Cable and NBC Universal. It is one of America’s largest providers of video, phone and high-speed internet services to residential customers under the brand name XFINITY. It also offers these services to businesses. NBC Universal operates sports, news and entertainment cable networks, Telemundo and the NBC broadcast networks, TV production operations, TV station groups, Universal Pictures and Universal Parks and Resorts.

Comcast is also a producer of television programs and feature films. It operates channels like NBCSN, E Entertainment and Golf Channel. It also has significant market share in digital distribution. The company has been the victim of criticism over various issues like low customer satisfaction in cable business, violation of net neutrality norms, lack of competition in its offerings etc.

In 2015, Comcast’s attempts to merge with Time Warner Cable for an estimated value of about $45 billion collapsed. Despite this setback, the company has been performing well with robust growth in the last financial year.
