MGM is a media company mainly into production and distribution of films and television series. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer was founded in 1924 by Marcus Loew and it has headquarters in Beverly Hills, California, US. Gary Barber is the chairman and CEO of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. The two product divisions of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer is motion pictures and television programs.

The various channels used by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer are either wholly owned or joint venture. Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer has 55% stake in United Artists Media group and 19% stake in Sudio 3 Partners. Traditional channels like home entertainment, theatrical and television are contributing to the revenue. However, revenue from digital distribution channels has increased over time.

MGM has built a very intriguing and extensive library and it took years to have such a vast variety. Now MGM includes not only film and series of its in-house and other companies. Companies like United Artists, Orion Pictures, American International Pictures, Filmways, Streamline Pictures, Island Pictures, Gladden Entertainment, The Cannon Group, 21st Century Film Corporation and many others.

MGM television content consists of Vikings, Season 3, Teen Wolf, Season 5, Lauren Lake’s Paternity Court, Season 3, Fargo, Season 2. Some of the 2014 releases by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer are Robocop, 22 Jump Street, Hercules, If I stay, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. Hot Tub Time Machine 2, Hot Pursuit, Poltergeist are 2015 releases and the upcoming films include Max, Spectre, Creed, Ben-Hur, Barbershop 3 and so forth.
