6. Paramount Pictures

Paramount Pictures is a subsidiary of Viacom and it has headquarters in California, United States.


Paramount Pictures was found by Adolph Zukor, Jesse L Lasky, W. W. Hodkinson in 1914. Brad Grey is the chairman and CEO of Paramount Pictures. Paramount Pictures have many product divisions like Paramount Home Media, Distribution, Production, Animation, Television, MTV films, Comedy Central Films.


Paramount Pictures has two subsidiaries namely Paramount Licensing Inc, Paramount Home Media Distribution. Paramount Pictures has entered into Joint Venture with Epix and United International Pictures. In 2006, Paramount Pictures purchased DreamWorks. However, due to some reason after two years the DreamWorks officials announced that DreamWorks is spinning off from the parent company Paramount Pictures and forming a new entity.


Paramount pictures has tasted success with many films and series such as Transformers, Mission Impossible, Indiana Jones, The Godfather Star Trek, Jack Ryan, Jackass, Beverly Hills Cop, Paranormal Activity, Friday the 13th and many others. Most of the films are co-produced with some other production house to mitigate the risk.
