Ford of Britain, also known as Ford Motors, is a British owned subsidiary of Ford of Europe which itself a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company.
The company started in 1909 and has its registered head office in Essex, United Kingdom. The subsidiary adopted its new name (Ford of Britain) in 1960.
The company has three major manufacturing plants in the United Kingdom;
-Petrol engine production plant in Bridgend
-Diesel Engine production plant, in Dagenham
-Transmissions, in Halewood
Ford of Britain operates a large research and development plant in Dunton, Essex and has over 3,000 engineers working over there. The company has around 35000 employees working for it and is currently headed by Mark Ovenden (CEO). Ford has been the United Kingdom's biggest commercial vehicle and car-selling brand for around 45 and 34 years respectively.
