United States covers 50 states in 9,857,306 km² land.
It’s population is 318.9 million with GDP per capita 53,041.98 USD. US is dominantly a service-sector oriented country with about 97% revenues coming from the Services sector. According to the world bank US had 44.7% land under agriculture with greatest agricultural productivity. On an average, every American farmer feeds 155 people. The overall productivity has increased by more than 250% compared to US agriculture in the 1950s. However US’s agricultural growth has come to a stand still since last few years and hence there is a demand to increase productivity more than other factors. Some of the agricultural practices fol-lowed in US include crop rotation, contour farming and Intensive Subsistence Farming.
US is best known for corn production and introduction of various biotechnological (BT) crops. US is also rich in production of meat, nuts, wheat, rice, cotton, soybeans and fruits and vegetables like Apples, Grapes, Oranges, Tomatoes, Potatoes etc. Also about 23% of the US farm products are ex-ported each year.
