Dell is concerned with selling, repairing and supporting computers and related product and services. Its products range from personal computers servers, data storage devices, network peripherals, MP3 players and other electronic goods. Until 2014, Dell was ranked 51st in the Fortune 500 list. After it went private in 2013, the confidential financial information about the company prevented it from being ranked.
At the Dell World 2014 event, Dell announced the launch of Windows 8.1-based Dell Venue 8 Pro 3000 series which has an 8-inch HD display, 1.2 Megapixel front camera and 5 Megapixel back camera and a resolution of 1280x800. Dell also unveiled the Dell Venue 11 Pro 7000 series having a 10.8-inch full HD screen. It can be attached to a mobile keyboard and folds such that it looks like a thin laptop. It also announced the launch of Dell Venue 8 7000 series, an Android tablet having 8.4-inch screen. It is 6mm thick and has extremely sharp imagery.
In June 2015, Dell launched its Venue 8 7000 series in India which is regarded as the world’s thinnest tablet. The tablet comes without a call function but it contains the first of its kind Intel RealSense Snapshot Depth Camera. Dell opened its 500th Dell Exclusive Store in Mumbai. It is regarded as the stepping stone in the path towards the rapidly expanding retail presence of Dell. Dell aims at opening of 825 Dell Exclusive Stores in the country by the end of 2015.
