It specializes in developing and manufacturing computing, data storage and networking hardware. The first tablet that HP had launched was on July 1st 2011 and named it HP TouchPad. It used the webOS operating system and offered features like video chat, e-mail integration, wireless printing (on HP printers), ebooks, document editor and the HP Catalog to download additional apps.
The most popular HP tablet in India is the HP Slate 7 which has a 7 inch LCD Capacitive Touchscreen, 16 GB internal memory which is expandable to 32 GB and a 5 MP rear camera with auto focus. In April 2015, HP launched seven new tablets in India targeting enterprise customers. The HP Pro Slate 8 and HP Pro Slate 12 began selling in India from May. They are priced at Rs. 33000 and Rs. 41500 respectively. HP Pro Tablet 408 G1, Pro Slate 10 EE and Pro Tablet 10 EE started selling form April and were priced at Rs. 23500, Rs. 22000 and Rs. 25000 respectively. The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare Tablet as well as ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged Tablet are expected to hit stores in July and will be priced from Rs. 85000 onwards.
HP launched the HP Pavilion X2 tablet which combines the best of the tablet as well as the ultra-thin laptop world into one device. Design is described to be ‘tablet first’ and is consists of 2GB memory and a storage space of 64GB.
