Juventus Football Club is a Italian professional football club based in Turin, Piedmont.
It is one of the oldest football clubs in the country and has been in the Serie A since 1929 except for the 2006-07 season.
It was founded in 1897 by some young Torinese students. It was known as the Sports Club of Juventus at that time. Eugenio Canfari who was the president of the club at that time was one among them. Juventus was the first and the only professional club in the country at that time.
It played an important role in the World cup trimuphs of Italy in 1934, 1982 and 2006. The club enjoys a huge fan base larger than any football club in Italy and one of the largest worldwide. Its support increased throughout the country and abroad over the years and mainly in countries with Italian immigrants.
Giovanni Trapattoni, was their most successful manager who led them to 13 official trophies in ten years till 1986 which included 6 league titles and 5 international titles. Juventus became the first club to win all the three major competitions organized by UEFA.
It has performed exceedingly well on the domestic and international scale winning over 59 official league titles. It has a record of 10 Italian cups, 7 national super cups and 11 title in confederation and inter-confederation competitions. The club stands in the fourth position in Europe and eighth place in the world in terms of the trophies won.
