7. Goodyear

The Goodyear's journey began in the year of 1898, when Frank A.Seiberling purchased the company's first production plant.


The company was named after the person who discovered Vulcanisation, Charles Goodyear. Initially, Goodyear had only 13 employees and the production began on 21st November 1898.It's incredible but the sales after the full month production amounted to $8246 which was no doubt a great success.Since then, Goodyear has been the world's biggest tyre company and it adopted the slogan " More people ride on Goodyear tyres than on any other kind".1998, the Goodyear celebrated its 100th anniversary. As a corporate citizen Goodyear participates in organisations that seek to provide opportunities for civic, economic, and educational growth and social and physical health. It has been over 90 years since Goodyear first came to India with its 2 plants at Ballabgarh and Aurangabad.Goodyear India has also been a pioneer in introducing tubeless radial tyres in this segment.
