Unilever, is one of the world renowned and largest fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies with highest no of brands in home, food and personal care.

Some of the globally known brands of the company are as follows:  Lipton, Lux, Knorr, Dove, Ponds, Lakme, Pears, Bru etc. Out of all the divisions of Unilever- personal care segment is the highest revenue generating business. Unilever is mainly present in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Africa & the company has two headquarters- Roster dam and London.


The company was founded in 1929 with merger of Lever brothers and Margarine Unie. Till 1997 Unilever was present only in chemical manufacturing but then it divested in other areas also ilike chemical business as ICI .

Unilever has made a series of acquisition like Lipton, Ben, Brooke Bond, etc. By 2020 Unilever has claimed  that they will reduce the carbon footprints produced by its manufacturing units to half . Majority of their food & beverage portfolio met benchmarks based on national nutritional requirement- and 34% met highest nutritional requirement. Unilever has also helped 600,000 small holder farmers and 1.8 mn small scale retailers for training and support. Unilever has topped the list of Annual Supply Chain Top 25 recently released by Gartner Inc.

Unilever is a company that involves itself in a lot of CSR activities through their products such as with the help of Lifebuoy they promoted the habit of washing hands before and after meals. They have also done in the field of saving biodiversity by giving grants to National Parks.
