5. Bajaj Auto

Bajaj Auto, an Indian two wheeler manufacturing company started its journey in 1945 as Bachraj Trading Corporation Private Limited by selling imported two and three wheelers in India.

It was founded by Jamnalal Bajaj in Rajasthan and is based in Pune and has its production facilities in Chakan (Pune), Waluj (place near Aurangabad) and Pantnagar in Uttarakhand. Bajaj has its R&D center based in its oldest plant at Akurdi, Pune.

Bajaj started by manufacturing scooters and its scooters chetak, Vespa and Priya were a hit among the masses. With the launch of motorcycles in 1986, Bajaj revamped its brand and became a two-wheeler manufacturer.

Bajaj introduced its patented technology DTSI (Digital Twin Spark Ignition) that gave a new dimensions to engines. Discover, Platina, Pulsar and Avenger which became the most famous motorcycles among the various segments. Pulsar was the biggest hit with its classy performance and won bike of the year award many a times. Bajaj is also the largest three wheeler manufacturer in the world.
