Definition: Nearby Month

Nearby Month is the month which is closest to the delivery date in case of Futures or the month which is closest to expiration in the case of Options.

Nearby month or the nearest month is immediately next month in most cases.

e.g. let us take an example of Futures contract, if today is let us say 19th June, then Nearby Month would be July as the delivery date would be in July.
