Definition: Liquidation value

The worth of the assets of a company if it is, or it was to be sold out, is known as liquidation.

This does not include the intangible assets like goodwill, brand etc. The buyers are not given enough time to work out the prices. Usually the liquidation value is lower than the fair value of the assets.
