Definition: Organizational Design

The concept of Organizational Design comes into the picture when there is a problem that is identified that elicits a change within the organisation in order to be eliminated. In the OD process, firstly once the problem has been identified, a situational assessment is performed based on which the type of intervention is decided upon and the action plan set.

Organizational Design

Once the plan has been implemented and the changes incorporated, the results are analysed and a feedback is generated. If the changes result in the desired consequences, i.e. elimination of the problem, the OD intervention is deemed successful, else further development changes are required and the cycle is repeated.
