Definition: Piece Goods

Piece goods are articles especially textiles and fabrics made and sold in standard lengths. These are also called yard goods. The things include bed sheets, canvas, carpets, handkerchiefs, pillow cases, shower curtains, table cloths.

There are many who buy these fabric in piece goods fashion, use notions (sewing and hair accessories, etc.), and other dry goods and make textile. They have contract laborers to make cloth out of these goods and they sell the finished goods in wholesale.
