Definition: Corporate Sponsorship

It is a form of marketing in which a corporation pays for all or some of the expenses of a project or program in exchange for recognition.

Here, the corporations may have their logos or brands displayed prominently alongside the organisation undertaking the project. Corporate sponsorships are mainly common for NGOs and their activities who cannot obtain high levels of funding on their own. Corporate sponsorships are also highly common amongst sports teams or people, artists or any crowd pulling events or activities organised by different television networks or colleges etc.

Example: some of the examples would be PEPSI sponsoring the IPL matches, or Airtel sponsoring the Super Singer show in a regional channel in Tamilnadu.
