Rebate received is the return of part of the original fee for some goods or service. Unlike discount rebate is given after the payment of full amount. Rebate is a type of sales promotion that marketers use mainly as an incentive to product sales. Rebates can be offered either by the manufacturer or the retailer.

In order to get a rebate customer needs to share his personal details which are then user by the retailer for future communication with the buyer or to study the consumer behavior. Rebate helps to stimulate sales of low moving products.

Some rebate programs offer several payout options to consumers, like a cheque, PayPal payout, etc.
