Definition: Across the Board

Radio and television shows that are aired in all weekdays, at the same time and on the same channel are referred to as across the board television shows. These usually are the ones with the highest viewership or listenership and are mostly aired in primetime slots. Across the board television shows also have the highest frequency of advertisements and slots on these shows, because of the huge population listening to them, are expensive.

Shows in the 8 to 11:30 category on popular channels like Star Plus, Zee TV and Colors are known as primetime shows and the slots available on them are called primetime slots. These slots are usually charged the highest.
