Definition: Recurring Demand

Recurring demand can be defined as a demand from an authorized requisitioner for a particular product either for consumption or for replenishment of the stock. This replenishment is anticipated to occur periodically. The probability of the future occurrence of this demand is not known and hence it is called recurring.

These demands are important from supply chain point of view as well & will be used to store, order & distribute the product to the retailers and customers & meet their demand.
