Definition: Demo

Demo or Demonstration or more specifically Product demonstration refers to the demonstration of product to the potential customers or consumers. It is a kind of sales pitch offered in different venues so that the benefit and usage of the product can be shown to the target group. Products that are demonstrated can be a new product which has recently been launched in a market, or a line extension of another branded product etc.

Demo can be done in In-stores, home (door-to-door), trade show, road side demo and other suitable places where the target customers can be found in plenty. The demonstrators may be employee of the the retail store where the event is taking place, or he or she may be a sales representative or an independent contractor who works for an external agency. A successful demo can help accelerate purchase, develop new leads, and boost the sales of the demonstrated product.
