Opinion formers are those customers or consumers that exerts considerable influence on their surroundings so that others’ decision gets affected by that of the opinion formers. Opinion formers are knowledgeable people who knows about a certain product or a service in details. They may be someone who knows and can communicate with a greater number of people or they might be someone who possess great persuasive power.

Any firm which has some market offerings tries to target these opinion formers or opinion leaders so that they can deliver value to these people who in turn can bring a huge number of people to test and adopt the market offerings of the company. These opinion formers often are converted to Brand Evangelists by a firm so that word of mouth marketing can be done by them to spread the awareness of the product or services offered by the brand.
